Vikas Dubey is an Indian wanted criminal, real-estate businessman, and politician based in Kanpur district in Uttar Pradesh, India. In 1990, first case of murder registered against him, and as of 2020 Dubey has at least 60 criminal cases.

Born on 26 December 1964, Vikas Dubey age is 55 Years as in 2020. He was brought up in a middle-class Hindu family from Uttar Pradesh and holds an Indian nationality.
At a very early age, he started his gang and was held responsible for numbers of criminal activities. Within no time he portrayed himself as one of the wanted and most terrifying criminals in the Kanpur district.
After that, he joined hands with one of the prominent leaders in the district Harikishan Srivastava who is a popular leader for the Bharatiya Janta Party at that time.
Both of them also joined the Bahujan Samaj Party. Since then he was found accused in many criminal activities but due to his political support, he was acquitted in every case.

The politician cum criminal started his career at a very early age, in his teenage, he made a gang and started many criminal activities in his hometown. Soon he became one of the most wanted criminals in the Kanpur district, after that he joined hands with some renowned politicians and also joined Bahujan Samaj Party himself.
In 1993 the first case was registered against him in which he was held responsible for a robbery and after that many cases are registered against him for robbery, murder, kidnapping, land grabbing, and criminal intimidation.
In 2001 he also murdered a BJP leader Santosh Shukla who is a member of parliament. He killed Shukla in a police station in front of many police officers but due to his strong political connection, he was acquitted from the case.
Along with his criminal activities, he is also a real-estate businessman and a politician from Bahujan Samaj Party. He also won the Nagar Panchayat election from Shivrajpur, Uttar Pradesh in 2002.
When he was a part of the BSP he had a good hold in the party leadership and was very close to the party president Mayawati. He also has many schools and colleges in Uttar Pradesh and has a law college in Bithoor, Uttar Pradesh.
In 2018 he also attacked his cousin, Anurag Dubey, in which an FIR was also registered against him by Anurag’s wife. He also went to jail many times for his involvement in these cases but he also carried out his criminal activities from jail. To date there are more than 60 cases are registered against him but still, he is a free man due to his powerful connections.
Recently he carried out a huge criminal activity during an attempted arrest by police from his house in Kanpur. He killed 8 police officials and injured nearly 7 police officers in a cross-fire at his house held on 03rd of July 2020.
After that police started a big search operation to find out his current location as he ran away with his men after the incident. Right now police demolished his fort-like house in Kanpur and also killed two of his men in an encounter along with his maternal uncle.
Police also issue a prize of 5 lakhs rupees on him and 25 different police teams are made to find Vikas and his associates.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Shree Yogi Adityanath and many other higher police officials stated that they will arrest him soon and strict actions would be taken against him. His family members are being questioned by police and also all his places are sealed by the police.

Vikas Dubey Encounter/Death
Vikas Dubey was arrested on 9 July 2020 at the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh where the temple’s security guard recognized him and informed the local police. The police reached the temple and arrested him, many political parties raised questions against this arrest and raised abjection against the police team as well as the Uttar Pradesh government.
He was absconding since last week as he escaped from Kanpur, then from Faridabad Haryana, and then to Kota Rajasthan. Finally, he went to Ujjain where he got arrested and was handover to the Uttar Pradesh police.
Today he was brought back to Kanpur police headquarters but on the way, the police car was overturned due to heavy rain and the gagster try to escape after snatching a gun from one of the policemen.
Police told him to surrender but he refused and fired on the police team in return police team also fired on him and as a result, he was shot dead at a village which is few kilometers away from Kanpur.
Investigation teams reached the incident’s venue and started an investigation, as per reports 4 policemen were also injured in this incident and Vikas’s body was taken to the hospital immediately where he was declared dead.
Further information would be revealed after the final statement by the police officials and the postmortem report. This incident took place at 06:30 AM at a village Bhauti near Kanpur district Uttar Pradesh where he was shot dead in an encounter.
