Controversy
Vijay Mishra was involved in many controversies during his political career in Uttar Pradesh Government. He made the controversy when he was expelled from the Samajwadi Party in 2017 for anti-party activities. After that, he contested the 2017 election as an independent candidate and also become a member of the NISHAD party.
In 2018, he was also expelled from the NISHAD Party as he supported the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate in the 2017 Rajya Sabha elections while his party wanted him to support the candidate from Bahujan Samaj Party. In 2014, he was also made the headlines when his daughter was contesting a Lok Sabha seat in the 2014 Indian general elections and was provided with armed protection officers.
After that court ordered that this measure by Uttar Pradesh Government was illegal. Recently he was in controversy when he stated that there is Gundaraj in Uttar Pradesh and anything would happen in Uttar Pradesh. On 15 August 2020, Vijay Mishra was arrested by Uttar Pradesh police while he was crossing Rajasthan and was picked up by Uttar Pradesh police at Madhya Pradesh Agar region in Malwa while he was offering prayers at Mahakal temple while on run.
