Vijay Deverakonda was brought into existence in 1989 in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The actor did his schooling from Sathya Sai Higher Auxiliary School in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. This is the boarding school from where actor completed his primary education, Vijay always credited his school for helping him in enhancing his acting skills. Since the actor studied in a boarding school he stayed away from his family in his childhood days.
The actor used to spend his time reading newspapers, books and playing different sports, as they are not allowed to use television and mobile phones when he used to study in boarding school. After that the actor went to Little Flower Junior College in Hyderabad and then went to Badruka College of Commerce in Hyderabad to complete his graduation.

Vijay was born in a well-known family in Hyderabad. His father Devarakonda Gowardhan Rao is a television director and producer and his mother Devarakonda Madhavi is the owner of SpeakEasy in Hyderabad. The actor also has one sibling younger brother Anand Deverakonda who is also a well-known face of the Telugu film industry.
