Career
Steve Harvey started his career as a stand-up comedian. Harvey renamed his company Steve Harvey Global in 2017. (SHG). SHG includes East One Twelve, Harvey’s in-house production company. It creates digital, film, and TV content.
The company also has the rights to other versions of Family Feud, with an African version debuting in 2020. He launched the Sand and Soul Festival in 2017. The yearly event features live music, stand-up comedy, and a Q&A with Harvey and Marjorie.
Harvey Events was formed by Morgan Hawthorne and Kareem Hawthorne. It organized the 2018 Atlanta FroRibbean Fest.
Harvey began hosting a Fox New Year’s Eve event in Times Square in 2017. (which, like his talk show, would be produced in partnership with IMG). Harvey was ordained in New York two days before the event to perform an on-air wedding between Keven Undergaro and Maria Menounos.
The special was Fox’s highest viewed New Year’s Eve show. Harvey will host the 8th annual NFL Honors in 2019. “What took you so long to invite me to host the show?” Steve asks in his introductory monologue. He hosted the ninth annual program the following year.
