Spencer has become famous for suing the Nirvana band because they used his baby picture on their cover album without his consent in August 2021. The lawsuit is filed in California district court which includes many parties that are surviving members of the band and Kurt Cobain’s widow. He alleged that he was sexually exploited as a toddler where his genitals were visible in the cover picture.
The lawsuit accused the cover makers of commercial child sexual exploitation while he was a minor. According to Spencer, he had to go through lifelong damages that included loss of wage, education and extreme level of emotional distress.
