Som Shekar is an Indian actor, model and MMA trainer (Mixed Martial Arts) who primarily works in the Tamil film and television industry. He is known for playing an IAF cadet in the Tamil-language action drama film, “Soorarai Pottru” (2020) and Musthafa in the musical romance “Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai” (2016).
He is very passionate about boxing and has won two gold medals at the International level. Recently, he made his appearance in the TV reality show Bigg Boss Tamil 4 as a contestant along with Rio Raj, Aari Arjuna and Aranthangi Nisha. The show premiered on the Vijay TV channel and started on 4 October 2020.

Career
Som Shekr started his career as a fitness model and appeared in many Tv commercials and brand promotion. Recently he did an ad commercial with Bigil fame actress Reba Monica John.
In 2010, he made a debut in the television industry with Vijay TV’s “Azhagiya Tamil Magan” as a contestant and secured the second position.
After that, he appeared in a romance thriller short-film, “Akku” (2013) as Prakash, film is based on a social issue that travels through emotions and pain.
In 2016, Som made his acting debut in the Tamil film industry with the musical drama film, “Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai” as Musthafa, starring Walter Philips, Isha Talwar in the lead roles.
He also appeared in the action-comedy film, “Velaiilla Pattadhari 2” (2017) aka “VIP 2” directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth.
He practiced mixed martial arts for many years and became a professional MMA trainer.
In 2019, he won the silver medal in the Tamil Nadu state level Muaythai Championship and the gold medal in the men’s 66 Kg boxing match.
Recently, he completed the shooting of Telugu film “Soorarai Pottru” where he playing the role of an Airforce officer. The film was directed by Sudha Kongara under the banners of 2D Entertainment and Sikhya Entertainment.
In 2020, he appeared in Bigg Boss Tamil season 4 as a contestant.
