Currently, Shreya Dhanwanthary is making waves for her role as Sucheta Dalal in Sony LIV’s crime drama Scam 1992. She also directed and wrote Eros Now’s web miniseries The Viral Wedding (2020) in which she also plays the lead role. The series has received positive reviews from young viewers.

Shreya found herself in a bit of a controversy when allegations of sexual harassment were leveled against Soumik Sen who happened to be the director of her Bollywood debut Why Cheat India. Shreya responded to it saying she was shocked and that she supported the victims.
