Showik Chakraborty is the younger brother of Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty. He made the headlines after an FIR was registered against his family by late Bollywood actor Sushant’s father Mr. KK Singh.
He is the owner of two companies along with Sushant named Front India Foundation for World and Vividrage Rhealityx (founded on 12 September 2019) that focuses on artificial intelligence and mixed reality.

On 4 September 2020, NCB arrested Showik Chakraborty in connection with the drugs probe. This happened after alleged drug peddler Zaid Vilatra and Abdul Basit Parihar confessed that he used to deal with Showik regarding the buying and selling of drugs.

Controversy
Showik Chakraborty made the headlines when an FIR was registered against his family in Bihar police station by Sushant’s father.
As per reports, he and his family were accused of transferring a huge amount of money from Sushant’s bank accounts. He was also accused of being involved in the abetment of suicide, cheating, and criminal breach of trust.
During the investigation, it was found that on 14 October 2019, a huge amount was used for his flight expenses and hotel expenses from Sushant Singh’s bank account.
The case will be probed by Nupur Prasad and will be supervised by DIG Gagandeep Gambhir and Manoj Shashidhar.
Showik has been arrested under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
