Roshni Nadar is the richest woman in India. She is the chairperson, CEO, and executive director of the well known IT company HCL Technologies. She is the daughter of the famous industrialist Shiv Nadar.

The executive was brought into existence in 1982 in Delhi, India. She was born and brought up with a silver spoon in a business based Hindu family in Delhi India. She completed her early education from Vasant Valley School in Delhi and after that she enrolled herself at Northwestern University from where she completed her graduate course in Communication with a major focus on radio/TV/film. She also completed her internship with CNN and CNBC and also worked at Sky News in London as a news producer for a very short time.
After that, she also completed her Master’s in Business Administration in Social Enterprise Management and Strategy from the Kellogg School of Management in Illinois, the USA. She was a meritorious student in her educational life and received many awards during her school and college life.

Her father Shiv Nadar was the founder of the HCL Technologies and was serving as the ex-chairman in the company. Her mother Kiran Nadar is a philanthropist and an avid art collector. She is the only child of her parents and was raised with the utmost love and care from her family.

She is married Shikhar Malhotra who is the Executive Director at HCL Corporation, Vice Chairman and CEO at HCL Healthcare, Pro-Chancellor at Shiv Nadar Foundation, and Trustee at Shiv Nadar University. The couple got married in November 2010 in the presence of their parents and other family members after dating each other for a long time of 7 years. Apart from her professional career, Roshni works as a philanthropist. She is the trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation which majorly focuses on the process of nation-building by providing transformational leadership through education. This foundation is not limited up to this only but there are many other initiatives that Shiv Nadar Foundation has taken under their name, these initiatives are “SSN Foundation”, “Vidyagyan Leadership Academy”, “Kiran Nadar Museum of Art”, “Shiv Nadar University”, and “Shiv Nadar School and Shiksha Initiative”.
She is also the chairman of the “Vidyagyan Leadership Academy” which mainly focuses on the meritorious student of rural areas of Uttar Pradesh. In this academy, they provide opportunities to the underprivileged students who will become the leaders and brings the change in the communities, villages, and nation as well. She worked so hard with this academy and as a result Vidyagyan has started training and in multiple fields and also showing their capabilities.
She is also very passionate about wildlife and environment conservation. For conserving our natural habitat and its species she founded the “Habitat Trust” in 2018 which majorly focuses on conserving a sustainable ecosystem. This trust provides facilities to individuals and other communities who are working towards the same goal and protect the endangered and weak biodiversities and natural habitat in India.

Roshni received so many Honors and awards for her work both as a businesswoman as well as a philanthropist. She received the NDTV “Young Philanthropist of the Year” Award in 2014, Lewis Institute “Community Changemaker” Award by Babson College in 2017, and Vogue India “Philanthropist of the Year” Award in 2017.
Apart from these she also bagged 54th rank on the Forbes list of “World’s 100 Most Powerful Woman” in 2019 and “Indian Business Leader of the Year” Award in 2019 by Horasis. She also received “The World’s Most Innovative People” Award in 2017 by The World Summit on Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

- In many interviews, Roshni revealed her hobbies as she likes traveling, listen to music, and reading books. She is also a trained classical musician and loves singing in her free time. She become the CEO of HCL Technologies when she was only 28 years old.
