Param Bir Singh is an Indian IPS officer who currently serving as the police commissioner of Mumbai. He is a former Police Commissioner of Thane (Metropolitan city in Maharashtra). Param Bir Singh also served as the Director-General of Police for Anti Corruption Bureau, Mumbai.
He rose to fame when he was first appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Police of crime branch Mumbai in 1990, as he played an important role in tackling underworld crimes at that time.

Param Bir Singh started his career in 1988 when he joined the Maharashtra Police as a deputy commissioner of police. He played a key role in curbing the underworld crimes in the city of Mumbai at that time.
He was known for controlling crime in Maharashtra like never before when he served at the post of Additional DGP of Law and order of Maharashtra Police. He was serving as the head of the Anti Corruption Bureau when clean chit was given to Ajit Pawar in a high-profile irrigation scam which was termed as a blot on his career.

Recently he made headlines when Mumbai Police’s investigation was questioned in the suicide case of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. In his clarification, he stated that the investigation is on the right track and Mumbai police are investigating every aspect of the case and have also taken all the necessary steps involved in the case.
He also added that they have provided all the required documents and support to the Bihar police during the investigation and even he added that Mumbai police have nothing to do with Vinay Tiwari (IPS officer from Bihar) quarantine procedure.
