Career
Kazakova stepped her feet inside the modeling world as a contestant in the real fashion and modeling show, ANTM: America’s Next Top Model. She appeared in the 24th cycle. As a contestant, Kazakova was an eminent performer.
She was also the top contender in the show, winning 6 out of 11 challenges. Kazakova was eliminated at the 15th spot. However, she made a wild card entry, and then she went on to become the 2nd runner-up.
Kazakova’s fame landed her several high-end modeling jobs. She first appeared in an advertising campaign for Target. She then appeared in several big fashion house’s campaign projects such as AdoreMe, Aerie, BeautyCounter, American Eagle, Christian Cowan, Poland Spring Origin, Adidas, and Macy’s. Kazakova has also been on SNL.
Kazakova has appeared on the cover of many top-class fashion magazine editorials. She first made her appearance on the cover of the coveted ELLE Magazine. Kazakova then went on to get featured on the covers of Good American, Gwynnie Bee, Australian Grazia, TomboyX. Her rising fame earned her the contract to be on the cover of Playboy magazine’s November issue of 2020.
Before joining the modeling reality show, America’s Next Top Model, she had appeared in the guerilla fashion show at the Time’s Square named The Real Catwalk in 2017. She was also discovered by Michelle Mock, who was the ANTM’s casting director. Kazakova in 2018 had created a photo series that centers around gender identity, diversity, body image, and sexuality. The series was captured by photographer Peter DeVito.
Kazakova always had suffered from her body image issues in the past. So, she took inspiration from Mock’s statement about showing off her diverse skills in a bikini shoot in an unusual place and Kazakova did it in Time’s Square. Kazakova appeared in the show along with people from diverse spectrums, like a trans woman, a gay man, curvy models, petite women, and named the show Beauty Revised. This earned her wide-ranged view and earned her much popularity across the crowd and mostly in LGBTQ cloud circles.
After her Beauty Revised campaign was a hit, she went on to organize another show named The Real Catwalk and here she promoted the idea of body positivity. It had 30 women of different sizes and sexuality and gender spectrum as well. The show shattered the idea of beauty standards and put Kazakova’s perspective of body positivity on to the world.
Before competing at ANTM, she held another The Real Catwalk at London and this time, the models were numbered 140. In this second version of The Real Catwalk, they gathered at Trafalgar Square. This time there was a whole lot of diversity and inclusivity regarding sexual orientation, gender identities, race, body positivity, age, size, and disabilities.
Kazakova had organized her third Real Catwalk show back in New York. It had 240 participants and was an entirely free campaign whose idea was gentrified on spreading body positivity and promoting other unorthodox beauty standards. Pacifica collaborated with Kazakova and provided free makeup for all the participants.
