Faizan Khan is a Delhi man who was arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly selling fake mobile SIM cards on false identification to the college students during the anti-CAA protest held in Delhi in January 2020.
He was arrested by the Delhi police under the charges of cheating and forgery. He was booked under India’s anti-terror law, the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, and murder under the Indian Penal code.

Born on 10 September 1991, Faizan Khan’s age is 29 years as of 2020. He was born and brought up in a middle-class Muslim family from Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, India.
He was working as an Airtel sales agent and selling mobile SIM cards with false identifications to the students of Jamia Millia Islamia University who were involved in the communal violence that took place in Delhi in February earlier this year.
Faizan Khan is one of the 21 people who were arrested during the investigation of the anti-CAA protest, along with him many other students, activists, and critics of the Citizenship Amendment Act were arrested along with the big names like Umar Khalid, Safoora Zargar, and Natasha Narwal.

Recently Faizan Khan gave a statement in which he stated that he is a poor Muslim man who had no interest in politics or any kind of protest. He also added that he didn’t even know the full forms or definitions of CAA, NRC, and NPR. He further added that he was harassed by the Delhi police as he never took part in the anti-CAA protest.
In his statement, he also added that he left school when he was in the 10th standard as his family was not able to continue his studies due to financial problems. After which he went to Delhi in search of work and started working as a salesman. He also stated that he lost his father in the year 2019 due to paralysis and also his mother’s health was not good.
He also has two younger sisters and one brother at his home, his grandmother is also living with his family in Uttar Pradesh where his brother works as a carpenter. According to his family, he has nothing to do with the protest, and the Delhi police are just torturing him mentally and physically.
After his arrest on 29 July 2020, his lawyer appealed for the bail in the Karkardooma district court but was rejected twice on 13 August 2020 and 28 August 2020. He was sent to the Tihar Jail on 02 August 2020, now his lawyer has moved to Delhi High court for seeking bail for his client. As per reports, the next hearing, in this case, will be held on 07 October 2020.
