He was born and brought up in a middle-class family in Pamena village Chevella Mandal in Ranga Reddy district in Telangana, India. his born name is Kavali Ravi Kumar, but popularly known as Chevella Ravi or Bithiri Sathi. He completed his early schooling from a school in his village and after that, he went to Chevella for completing his high school studies. He discontinued education after the completion of his intermediate.
Since childhood, he was inclined towards acting, and had developed good mimicry skills and was also good at imitating and making fun of people. He became popular among his friends and villagers, and then they all encouraged him to try his luck in the film industry in Hyderabad.
