Career
Vladimir Putin started his career as a KGB foreign intelligence officer. He was trained in the Leningrad 401st KGB Academy in 1975. After training, he was transferred to Leningrad’s Second Chief Directorate (counter-intelligence) to watch foreigners and consular personnel.
He was assigned to the Yuri Andropov Red Banner Institute in Moscow in September 1984. From 1985 through 1990, he worked as a translator in Dresden. We don’t know much about him then.
